Stay Prepared, Stay Protected This Season

Hurricane season in Florida brings real risks—from outages to supply shortages and storm damage. At Providence Living at Maitland, we take proactive steps to ensure residents are safe, supported, and cared for—before, during, and after the storm.

FOOD & WATER RESERVES: STOCK UP BEFORE THE STORM.

Our community maintains a full emergency supply of food, water, and dining essentials. Residents enjoy chef-crafted meals and snacks delivered safely to their rooms—even during severe weather.

  • Keep at least 7 days of non-perishable food and bottled water
  • Plan meals that don’t require cooking
  • Store paper goods and utensils

POWER & LIGHTING PROTOCOL: EXPECT OUTAGES—PLAN AHEAD.

Our community is equipped with backup generators and emergency lighting throughout the building. Residents stay secure, connected, and comfortable, no matter the conditions outside.

  • Charge phones and backup batteries
  • Keep flashlights and extra batteries on hand
  • Unplug electronics during the storm

MEDICATION & HEALTH ESSENTIALS: DON’T WAIT TO REFILL PRESCRIPTIONS.

Our care team manages medications and personalized health needs for every resident. Rain or shine, we coordinate with pharmacies and ensure continuity of care.

  • Ensure a 7-day supply of medications
  • Keep a list of prescriptions and dosages
  • Store medications in a waterproof container

DAMAGE PREVENTION AT HOME: SECURE YOUR SPACE BEFORE THE STORM.

Our team prepares the entire community in advance of every storm. From securing outdoor areas to inspecting infrastructure, we handle the details so residents don’t have to.

  • Bring in outdoor furniture and loose items
  • Check windows and doors for secure seals
  • Protect important documents in waterproof storage
