Why We Only Offer Memory Care
Memory care is a specialized type of long-term residential care designed for people living with memory impairments. Because memory care is our exclusive area of focus, we are uniquely positioned to offer a custom care plan. Structured routines, dignified assistance with daily tasks, and a secure environment help our residents thrive, and provide peace of mind for their family members.
Who We Serve
We exclusively care for residents with diagnoses that impact cognitive function. In addition to the traditionally recognized conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and other dementias, we care for those living with Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and other memory impairments/ progressive brain disorders/ progressive neurological disorders.
Each of these conditions presents individual needs and challenges. We provide tailored care to each resident, based on their abilities and preferences. Care plans and daily routines can change at any time as needs evolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right senior living community is a big decision. Here is some detailed information to help you or your loved one move forward with confidence.
What are the signs that it might be time to discuss memory care with a physician?
It may be time to discuss memory care with a physician if your loved one starts to display a significant decline in their cognitive abilities or if their behavior has begun to pose a safety risk. Other signs that your loved one may need additional support include behavioral changes, frequent confusion, or lack of interest in socialization. A diagnosis from a physician will prompt a discussion of the right level of care.
What is the difference between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia?
Dementia is an umbrella term for cognitive decline, including memory loss, behavioral changes, or increased self isolation. All of these symptoms interfere with daily life and pose safety risks for the individual experiencing them. Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common form of dementia. If you suspect a loved one may be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other form of memory impairment, our care team can perform an individual assessment to determine the appropriate level of care your loved one may need.
What security measures are in place to keep my loved one safe?
To keep residents safe, we have invested in cutting-edge technology, including facial recognition, video surveillance of entry points, and trip-resistant flooring. Your loved one will be safe with our team, whether they are perusing the various amenity spaces or strolling within the enclosed courtyard.
What can I expect from the team members caring for my loved one?
The Providence Living at Maitland team members caring for your loved one are highly trained professionals who passionately deliver our specialized memory care programming. The care team provides tailored assistance based on your loved one’s unique diagnosis, abilities, and preferences. Care may include assistance with activities of daily living, cueing and encouragement, and creating personalized activities.
How do meal plans work?
Residents have access to three chef-prepared meals served daily in the main dining room as part of our daily routine. Our certified dementia caregivers and staff approach mealtimes with extra care, focusing on multi-sensory dietary plans that emphasize nourishment, hydration, and familiar dishes. Consistent schedules ensure no missed meals, soft foods aid chewing and swallowing, and our dining area is designed to reduce distractions.
What does the activities calendar look like?
Some of the multi-sensory activities we offer include music, dance, animal therapy, painting, poetry, aroma therapy, and more. Residents at Providence Living at Maitland have access to diverse daily engagement activities that present opportunities to engage with their community of friends and neighbors, including intergenerational and spiritual activities.
